2008-11-18 06:59:302007-03-30, Tiffany Davis received 2007 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Award Tiffany Davis, a graduate student at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Northwestern University, was awarded a 2007 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. The Fellowship recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in the relevant science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees. NSF Fellows are expected to become knowledge experts who can contribute significantly to research, teaching, and innovations in science and engineering. Tiffany is currently working with Profs. Cao, Ehmann and Wang to invest the size effect and process effects in surface texturing.2007-03-01, Prof. Brad Kinsey receives NSF CAREER Award Prof. Kinsey from UNH received a NSF CAREER Award grant for his project entitled "Development of Hyperplastic and Superplastic Microforming Processes and Related Educational Activities" (CMII-0644705). This work will include collaborating with Prof. Kapoor from UIUC to develop microfactory versions of the processes and Prof. Dohda from Nagoya Institute of Technology to investigate superplastic rolling.2007-02-18, Prof. Jian Cao - Fellow of ASME Prof. Jian Cao has been elected a Fellow of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers). The Fellow grade recognizes exceptional engineering achievements and contributions to the engineering profession.
